What is the weekly surgery?
The Weekly Surgery is a course designed to help with your med school applications. Every Monday at 7.30PM BST there is a new live episode you can join, each one designed to provide you with all the info you need to successfully get a place in medical school and some much needed medical work experience too. All live sessions are interactive, you wont need to have your camera or microphone on but you will be able to take part using interactive software and also chat with your fellow students too.
How do I watch?
To watch you’ll need a subscription. Once you have signed up you’ll be invited to create an account where you can login to watch each episode live at 7.30pm BST every Monday or on demand later at a time that suits you best.
What age is The Weekly Surgery for?
The Weekly surgery is suitable for any student interested in a career in medicine - typical ages are 14-18 but we also get many students attending who are interested in graduate entry medicine too.
What if I miss an episode?
All the episodes will be available to rewatch for 30 days after the live session, so you can simply log into your account and rewatch any sessions you have missed at a time that suits you best.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes, all students on the paid plan will receive a certificate every 30 days confirming attendance. The certificate will reflect the work experience sessions.
How do I cancel?
Cancelling your plan is easy - you don’t need to talk to anyone or give a reason, just simply log into your account and select to cancel the subscription and thats it. or alternately just email info@premedprojects.co.uk and we’ll cancel it for you so you won’t be billed again.
You won’t be charged anything further from the date you select to cancel but you will lose access to the weekly surgery from the day you choose to cancel.
Do you offer bursaries?
Yes! To those students who otherwise would not be able to attend due to financial issues we offer free access to the platform. Just visit here to find out more about the eligibility criteria.
I represent a school, can I enrol multiple students?
We get many schools who purchase subscriptions on behalf of their students. If you would like to do this or would prefer to book for multiple months just email info@premedprojects.co.uk and we can arrange everything.
What if I’ve lost my login?
No problem. Just click “Login” and then “Forgot password” to reset. If you have forgotten which email address you signed up with or still need help just email info@premedprojects.co.uk.
Can the weekly surgery be used as work experience?
Absolutely. Virtual or online work experience is recognised by all medical schools and can be used to great effect to compliment your applications. Some of the weekly sessions such as help with med school personal statements or UCAT help are obviously not going to be relevant to this but over half the sessions we run are specifically designed to be used as medical school work experience.
